Not every pet’s emergency needs to be treated at a Specialty Center or 24-Hour ICU and sometimes your primary care veterinarian is not able to fit you and your pet into their schedule. That is what Horn Lake Animal Hospital and Urgent Care is here for!

We are focused on using state-of-the-art diagnostic tools to diagnose and treat non-life-threatening conditions. Please look at the table below for some suggestions for when urgent care is appropriate as opposed to emergency services.

Wondering if you should take your pet to an urgent care or an emergency center?
What to Expect During Your Visit
Upon arrival, your pet will be assessed and triaged. After evaluation, our team will present you with a price estimate prior to any testing or treatments being performed. Once a treatment plan is agreed upon, our team will work to offer your pet the utmost care and support as we work to resolve the situation. At the end of the visit, the doctor will provide you with written discharge instructions regarding the treatment and care of your pet. If you have any questions or feel you may need further support once leaving, please call our office.
After Your Visit
Your pet may need follow-up care with your primary care veterinarian after their visit with us. All of your pet's medical records and test results from your urgent care visit will be sent to your primary care veterinarian so they have all the information they need to continue caring for your pet. In some cases, after assessment and treatment, we may refer you to an emergency hospital for additional care and treatment. We want to ensure that your pet receives the required level of care to best resolve their need.
